2010 Municipal Budget
The final 2010 Municipal Budget will be considered for adoption at the public hearing on November 16 at 6:00pm. A copy of the summary sheets of the budget is available online by clicking here. H1N1 Flu Vaccine -Updated 10/29/2009
A clinic for H1N1 flu vaccine is scheduled for Friday, November 6 from 8 am to 12 noon at the Shorewood Village Center, 3920 N. Murray Avenue. There is no charge for the H1N1 vaccine. This clinic is available for specific target populations only. Click here for more information.
The Shorewood/Whitefish Bay Health Department has TENTATIVELY scheduled the following H1N1 flu vaccine clinics: Wednesday, November 18 at Lake Bluff Elementary School (for Shorewood residents only), 1610 E. Lake Bluff and Saturday, November 21 at Cumberland Elementary School in Whitefish Bay (for Whitefish Bay residents only). Clinics will be held depending on availability of the vaccine. Information will be sent home through your school's normal communication vehicle. The website will be updated as information becomes available.
Request for Proposal Master Plan for Atwater Park
The Village of Shorewood is inviting consultants to submit request for proposals to create a Master Plan for Shorewood's landmark park. Submissions are due noon Novemeber 4. Click here.
Prescription Drugs Disposal Program
Starting October 1, 2009, the Shorewood Police Department will be accepting old, unwanted prescription drugs for disposal. Expired, unwanted medications can be turned into the Shorewood Police Department by Village of Shorewood residents only during the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday and Saturday from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Community Health Survey
The Shorewood/Whitefish Bay Health Department, Aurora Health Care and the Center for Urban Population Health Research are working in partnership to conduct a community health survey between October and November, 2009. About 400 residents will be interviewed by telephone, utilizing land lines and cell phones. The survey will take about 18 minutes to complete. Read more.
New Mixed-Use Project Planned
A proposed mixed-used redevelopment is planned for the northeast corner of Kensington Blvd. and Oakland Ave. The $8 million development would include 25 apartments and 11,000 square feet of first floor retail space. A brownfield grant of $100,000 from the state Department of Commerce will be used for site remediation costs. Further meetings and discussion on the project to follow.
