Shorewood has a long history of civic engagement by our residents. Residents volunteer for a variety of committees and boards, serving a short time on temporary Ad Hoc Committees or longer appointments.
The process to get involved is simply completing a Volunteer Application that is submitted to the Village Clerk. The form lists all active committees. Applicants may check as many committees that they have interest in. The Village Clerk will call applicants immediately if there is a current committee vacancy. Member terms range between one and three years and expire May 31st. Between February and March the Village Clerk reviews all member terms. If a term is expiring that coming May, the Clerk contacts the committee's village staff liaison to request them to find out if the member would like to contine for another term, unless there are no terms left.
Get started now by completing a volunteer application and be part of keeping Shorewood the great community that it is.
