Refuse & Recycling Collection Changes

Roll with the Changes Recycling Cart Information

To further encourage recycling and increase collection efficiencies, the Village of Shorewood is making some changes to how recycling is collected.

In the spring of 2018 all one, two and three family residences will be issued a 95-gallon recycling cart. The new carts are scheduled to be dropped at homes curbside during the weeks of March 26 (Route 1 residents) and April 2 (Route 2 residents).

What will change?

  • After cart delivery, homes with alley access will have alley collection of recycling and refuse.
  • Beginning April 2, 2018, all recycling will be collected from Village-provided 95-gallon carts only. Material outside of the carts will not be collected.
  • Beginning April 2, 2018, all refuse will be collected from Village-provided 95-gallon carts only. Material outside the carts will not be collected.

What won't change?

  • Collection schedules will not change. Please use the map (PDF) and schedule links below to determine your collection day.
  • Waste Management will continue as the Village's recycling collection vendor.
  • Refuse collection will continue to be provided by Village staff.
