NEW Parking Changes - Effective December 1, 2021
- Expanded hours of on-street, overnight parking enforcement to be from 2:00 a.m. - 5:00 a.m.
- Alternate-side parking regulations go away, except for on Oakland Avenue and Capitol Drive east of Oakland Avenue, where it is required seven (7) days a week as posted.

Vehicle Information Form - A Vehicle Information Form must be completed and submitted to the Customer Service Department at Village Hall or the Police Department when first signing up a vehicle for monthly overnight parking any municipal managed parking lot.

Parking Permit - There is no physical permit to display in your window or on your car. The Shorewood Police Department uses a LPR (license plate reader) to verify permission. Therefore, it is VERY important that when entering or providing your license plate number AND state, that they are correct. If the information entered is not correct, you will be subject to receiving a ticket.
Overnight Parking
NEW Alternate side on-street parking restrictions - Effective December 1, 2021
Effective December 1, 2021, seven days a week, including holidays, alternate-side on-street overnight parking in the Village of Shorewood will be enforced for Oakland Avenue and Capitol Drive east of Oakland Avenue between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. On these streets vehicles with valid overnight permits or temporary permissions must be legally parked on the even-addressed side of the street on even-numbered calendar dates and parked on the odd-addressed side of the street on odd-numbered calendar dates.
Please use the date that is appropriate to the applicable 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. period to determine if parking is allowed on the even or odd numbered side of the street.
Monthly On-Street Overnight Parking
Monthly overnight, on-street parking permits will be limited to two (2) permits per household/address. The fee is $40 per calendar month. Fees will not be pro-rated or refunded for partial months. Permits are not sold more than 1 month in advance.

The fee for the overnight parking lots is $30 per calendar month; the fee for the 24-hour parking lots is $50 per calendar month. Fees will not be pro-rated or refunded for partial months. Permits are not sold more than 1 month in advance.
IMPORTANT - Renewals must be concurrent and paid for prior to the 25th of each preceding month to guarantee your spot in the lot for the upcoming month. General off-street parking lot permits will be available to new parkers beginning on the 25th of each month for the following month, subject to established lot capacity and availability.
First time and current parkers without an AIMS account seeking off-street parking (lots) will need to visit Village Hall or the Police Department to fill out a Vehicle Information Form, make a payment and have staff instruct you on how to create an account, register your vehicle and renew your monthly parking online.
Free Single Overnight On-Street Parking Permissions (20 free per calendar year)
Residents and visitors are allowed up to 20 free Single Overnight On-Street Parking permissions per license plate per calendar year. You are not required to obtain overnight on-street parking permissions on Saturday mornings, Sunday mornings or certain holiday mornings.
Residents and visitors can obtain these permissions by clicking here to register their vehicle before 1:00 a.m. the morning of the requested 2:00 a.m. - 5:00 a.m. period. Once a request is submitted, it cannot be revoked.
If you cannot access the website, please contact the Shorewood Police Department at 414.847.2610 and leave your name, license plate number, vehicle description and location you will be parked.
Once you have used your 20 free permissions, you will need to purchase either a monthly on-street or off-street (lot) permit. First time off-street (lot) permits can only be purchased in-person during regular business hours. So, please plan ahead if you start nearing your 20 free permission limits.
