Parking

General Information and Rules

Overnight parking requires a permit in the Village of Shorewood with the exception for on-street parking only on Friday night (into Saturday morning), and Saturday night (into Sunday morning) and certain holiday mornings.

Parking Permit - There is no physical permit to display in your window or on your car. The Shorewood Police Department uses an LPR (license plate reader) to verify permission. Therefore, it is VERY important that when entering or providing your license plate number AND state, that they are correct. If the information entered is not correct, you will be subject to receiving a ticket.

Seven days a week, including holidays, alternate-side on-street overnight parking in the Village of Shorewood will be enforced for Oakland Avenue and Capitol Drive, east of Oakland Avenue, between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. On these streets vehicles with valid overnight permits or temporary permissions must be legally parked on the even-addressed side of the street on even-numbered calendar dates and parked on the odd-addressed side of the street on odd-numbered calendar dates. Please use the date that is appropriate to the applicable 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. period to determine if parking is allowed on the even or odd numbered side of the street.

All vehicles must obey all time zones, signs, and other parking restrictions. Per ordinance, all vehicles must be moved at least once every 24 hours to not be considered abandoned. Vacation parking is available to current paid monthly overnight parkers for $5 for up to 2 weeks. Contact the Clerk's Department at least 2 days prior to departure to arrange.
