Court Clerk

Responsibilities & Duties

The clerk is responsible for the maintenance of all records of the court. The court clerk cannot give legal advice, fill out forms for you, advise what to say or do in court, or recommend an attorney. The court clerk is appointed by the judge. The court clerk may:

  • Help to explain the court process
  • Answer questions about court procedure
  • Answer specific questions concerning your citation
  • Answer questions regarding monies owed the court
  • Set up a payment plan

Court Clerk Office

The court clerk maintains an office within the Public Safety Building of the Shorewood Police Department. The office is closed on holidays.
