July 18 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. | Go Native - Native Plant and Rain Barrel Workshop, Hubbard Park Lodge* Learn how to incorporate native plants and rain barrels into your home landscape with Shorewood's Horticulturist and MMSD staff. Sept 14 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. | Shorewood Waters Walking Tour (tour begins at 3801 N. Morris)* Take a stroll with Shorewood's Horticulturist and the Shorewood Waters Project to view innovative green infrastructure installments in Shorewood's neighborhoods with beautiful native plantings. Learn how these installations are managing excess stormwater runoff. You will also get planting tips to help your gardens flourish. Registration is required for this FREE workshop. Sept 19 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. | Natural Shorewood: Green Cleaning and Garden Care at Hubbard Park Lodge* We are surrounded by a world of beauty but also an abundance of chemicals. Have no fear, SWP will help you find more natural products and share DIY recipes that you can make from simple ingredients. We will also share tips to create thriving lawns and gardens with natural products to help remove toxins from your yard that may be negatively impacting wildlife and local water quality. Oct 7 11:00 - 3:00 | Shorewood Fish & Feather Festival, Hubbard Park Join us for this 10th annual festival to celebrate fall, the Milwaukee River, salmon running upstream and migrating birds. You and your family can walk in the river among salmon in waders or stroll through over a dozen interactive and education booths from local partners. Kids have fun in the Kids Zone with take-home art projects on pumpkins, birdhouses and beehives. Enjoy a day in this beautiful park with food trucks and close proximity to the Hubbard Park Beer Garden. We'll launch this year's event with a 9 a.m. river cleanup with the Shorewood Conservation Committee and Milwaukee Riverkeeper's Adopt -A-River program. |
