  1. Gardening for Bees, Birds and Butterflies - Go Native Workship

    September 19, 2018, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM @ Village Center

    Hosted by the Village of Shorewood, the Shorewood Waters Project, the Conservation Committee and MMSD. Learn about these winged beauties that visit and beautify our yards. Discover tips to attract these important pollinators and about the native plants they love. Take home free native plants and seeds to plant and information on the native plants that these pollinators adore. You'll also receive a copy of the new Shorewood's Water Walking Tour Guide that will show you locations in Shorewood using native plants and innovative stormwater management practices - green infrastructure. The MMSD's Fresh Coast Guardians program is giving away FREE rain barrels and instructions on how to install and maintain the barrels. One FREE rain barrel will be provided per household.   2. Shorewood Farmer's Market

    Dozens of vendors offer a full range of goodies each summer Sunday at the Lake Bluff Elementary School playground. Shop for fruits and vegetables, baked goods, chips and salsa, honey, and much, much more as you enjoy live entertainment and catch up with neighbors. The market accepts Quest benefits and is a pet-free zone, service animals excluded. Organizers are looking for ways to lighten our collective carbon footprint and encourage patrons to bring their own bags (or use those of Bring Your Bag Shorewood).   3. Shorewood Foundation Shark Tank Challenge

    September 24, 2018, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Three Lion's Pub

    The Shorewood Foundation is hosting its first Shark Tank Challenge to give residents a chance in an open forum to present their ideas for projects they believe the Foundation should fund. The event aims to solicit possible grant opportunities for projects that align with the Foundation’s stated objectives to increase the quality of life in the Village. Any individuals or organizations interested in presenting an idea to a panel of Foundation directors should arrive at Three Lions Pub on September 24th between 7-9PM. Parties should check in at the registration table, and must be prepared to discuss in five minutes or less: •A summary of their proposed project •How the proposed concept aligns with the Shorewood Foundation’s objectives to celebrate, connect and sustain the community •How much money is being requested •How grant dollars would be used, if provided.
