The Shorewood Historical Society gathered for their annual dinner meeting on Thursday, May 8 at Hubbard Park Lodge. Attendees enjoyed a special cake and a program that described what life was like in the new community of East Milwaukee in 1900.
On Thursday, May 22 Historical Society members joined Village Trustees at the Milwaukee County Historical Society’s Annual Awards Dinner at the Pfister Hotel. Board President Ann McKaig accepted a plaque awarded in honor of the Village’s milestone anniversary. Trustees Ircink, Warren and Arndorfer also attended the dinner.
Up next? The 4th of July! Community members are welcome to march in the parade along with the Historical Society (we’ll be carrying pictures). Other parade units are encouraged to use their creativity (costumes, signs, hand-outs?) to commemorate our QUASQUICENTENNIAL.
