What is the best path forward to continue the work imparting the importance of historic preservation in Shorewood? The Village has discussed this topic routinely over the years. Previous community engagement has taken place in conjunction with an active partnership with the Shorewood Historical Society as a result from an educational series conducted for the community.
To tackle this important topic, the Village Board enlisted the help of UniverCity Year (UCY), a partnership between UW-Madison and Wisconsin local governments. Faculty from across the University incorporate these projects into their courses, and UniverCity Year staff provide administrative support to ensure a successful collaboration.
Join us on Monday, December 18 when the Village's UniverCity representative will be meeting with the Village Board to review a draft survey that will be utilized to assess Shorewood's interest in pursuing historic preservation.
