As part of its long-term Emerald Ash Borer management plan.
The plan calls for the gradual removal and replacement of Village ash trees to help moderate costs, reduce reliance on pesticides, and prevent dramatic reductions in tree canopy cover as the borer continues to threaten all ash. Selected trees are marked with a green paint dot, will be removed by a private contractor in 2024, and will be replaced by the DPW Forestry Department as soon as possible. Residences adjacent to selected trees receive information with additional project details.
