Thanks to our Presenting Sponsors the Shorewood Foundation and Deborah Sobczak & Douglas Brodzik.
The first event will be the Bike & Trike Decoration Station by Little Sprouts Cafe will be at 1:30 to 2:45 pm at the old Kensington Liquor parking lot - kids are encouraged to join in and ride at the end of the parade!
The parade will be starting at 3:00 pm. After the parade finishes at Atwater Elementary School, in partnership with the Shorewood School District, the activation of the playground area connected to Atwater Elementary School will allow for a post-parade “festival” of sorts where ice cream will be distributed and kids can enjoy the school’s play spaces. A few food vendors are booked to be on site to extend the festivities and a selection of parade entertainers will stick around to keep the celebratory vibe going strong. If you have a kickball or basketball and want to play a quick game, bring one over and start it up!
Starting at 5:30 pm at Atwater Park, there will be other festivities with food, beverages, and entertainment until the fireworks start at 9:00 pm or dusk. If you have any questions at the parade, the celebration at Atwater Elementary School, or at Atwater Park before the fireworks, look for a volunteer wearing a white t-shirt with “Volunteer” on the back. Parade route set up will begin at 2:00 pm and the impacted areas in the map with the streets marked in red will show where no parking will be allowed until roughly 6:00 pm when all signs will be removed.
Expect Oakland Ave. to be closed from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
