Each year, the American Public Works Association presents the Public Works Projects of the Year awards to promote excellence in the management and administration of public works projects, recognizing the alliance between the managing agency, the contractor, the consultant, and their cooperative achievements.
In the July 2025 edition of the APWA Reporter magazine, the Village of Shorewood's Southeast Area Combined Sewer Improvement project was highlighted as the Disaster or Emergency Construction/Repair winner.
