Due to the volume involved, the Village of Shorewood uses a multi-step process, starting with the Village printing the tax bills and informational inserts. Once printed, the bills, inserts, and mailing and return envelopes are provided to a mailing house for folding and assembly. From there, the assembled mailing is delivered to the United States Postal Service for mailing and delivery.
This year, it was our expectation that bills would have arrived to residents the week of December 11. Due to communication issues with the mailing house, the bills were not processed with the intended priority. Moving forward, the Village will take steps to communicate more fully among partners to ensure the tax mailing is processed with the priority needed. For your convenience, you may also access a copy of your property tax bill online through the Village website by clicking here and using the Guest sign in at the top right of the page. You can also obtain your tax amount by phone at 414-847-2700, option 9. Lastly, you are also welcome to come to Village Hall offices to access and pay your property tax bill (the bill is not needed for payment since we can look this up for you). A receipt will be issued upon payment. Please note, Village Hall will be open 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Tuesday, December 26 through Thursday, December 28.
Payment due dates will be shown on your tax bill. Payment must be received by mail or via the drop box in the parking lot behind Village Hall by Thursday, December 28 at 4:30 pm to be posted as received in 2023. Payments received after that time will be processed on the date received.
